Solar Powered Vaccine Refrigeration and general
power systems for the local hospital in Abuja,
Nigeria.
Prior to implementation of the project, the electricity supply had
proved to be unreliable, and
expensive. Medical staff were unable to
perform any operations at night as the power
supply would fail. The storage of blood and vaccine supply was also a problem.
Bright Light Solar has developed a Solar Vaccine
Refrigerator that conforms to the World Health
Organisation specifications.
