A Solar Energy Solution from Earth Notes  Bright Light Solar has concentrated on supplying solar energy systems into the most appropriate markets where using a solar and battery source of electricity has serious practical and financial benefits. Whether this is providing solar powered fridges in the depths of Africa where there are serious practical disdavantages in running miles of power lines or financial and environmental disadantages in using small petrol or diesel generators, through to the similar benefits of using solar for standalone, off-grid electric power where access to the national or local grid is impractical or only implemented at great expense. Bright Light Solar is always looking towards the point where solar energy will offer the domestic and perhaps sooner the commercial customer a practical alternative to mains electricity. The following experiment illustrated by envrionmental commentator Damon Hart-Davis is of considerable interest. Damon has written an exploratory guide looking at the feasibility of running a discrete part of a domestic energy system on solar electricity. By choosing on the one hand to ignore the financial limits of solar energy while looking to create a practical solution, Damon has managed to create a usable mains independent power system. "I'm a bit of an 'owl' and often work at home late into the evening and sometimes the 'wee small hours'.
